Scholarly Solves Career Discovery

NextGenEdu Inc is an education research and technology company focused on career discovery for students and building products to help facilitate this process. Career discovery is often difficult for students because of the lack of exposure they receive while in K-12, and the lack of engagement that academics have with the industry. This lack of support for students often leads to them choosing the wrong majors which are often a double-edged sword for both universities and students in the form of longer time to graduate, high attrition rates, burnouts, and high debts.

Career Exploration

Our product, Scholarly, solves this by putting the student first and giving them the “lay of the land“ on careers. Scholarly touches on 3 key areas to make sure students pick the career that best suits them, they are what we call Contextualization, Humanization, and Pathways.

  • Contextualization is the underlying information that is tied to each career, data such as labor statistics, career wages, industry size/growth, as well as industry trends.

  • Humanization is where our product allows students to connect and talk to industry experts directly; this helps to humanize careers by highlighting real expert’s stories.

  • Pathways are where the connections are shown to students on how to reach their desired career, this boils down to college degrees, certifications, and other qualifying requirements for the career.

Career Readiness

While academia mostly focuses on the traditional education a student receives, one of the parts often looked over is the “Soft Skills“ required to be highly successful at their careers. We also provide career-readiness courses for students to prepare them and make sure they are familiar with the professional world before they step into it.

Career Counseling

NextGenEdu also provides career counseling services to students, as well as others that are looking for a change in careers. We are able to offer services to users that give them access to experienced counselors that understand both academia and the industry, and can help guide them to make sure they are able to reach their career goals.
